COVID-19 in Zimbabwe

According to the Ministry of Health and Child Care, almost half of the country’s total Covid deaths up to that point occurred in July. Over the course of the month, 58,996 infections were recorded, the highest since the beginning of the pandemic, and more than 1,700 people died. Every day, dozens of graves are dug as demand for space has more than tripled in the last two months.

Hospitals have strained under the rapid rise in the number of cases.

Zimbabwe has 117,000+ confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) cases and 3,919 deaths as of August 10, 2021.
