Vaccination in Uganda

According to Reuters’ COVID-19 tracker, Uganda is reporting 254 new infections on average each day, 17% of the peak — the highest daily average reported on June 15.

There have been 101,189 infections and 2,973 coronavirus-related deaths reported in the country since the pandemic began.

The country has only received some 2 million doses of AstraZeneca’s vaccine and 300,000 doses of the Chinese-developed Sinovac shot. Recently, the UK pledged to donate 100 million vaccines overseas by June 2022, 80 million of which will be distributed through the COVAX Facility. Uganda is one of the recipient countries.
